The Second-highest Scoring Game Ever Saw the Kings Defeat the Clippers 176-175

The Sacramento Kings defeated the Los Angeles Clippers 176-175 in double overtime in the second-highest scoring game in NBA history thanks to Malik Monk’s career-high 45 points, De’Aaron Fox’s game-winning basket and 42 total points.

LEONARD’S NIGHT

It is the sixth 40-point game in Leonard’s 10-year career and his second since joining the Clippers in the summer of 2019. In 46 minutes, he made 16 of his 22 field goal attempts, including six three-pointers.

Leonard was going up against the Kings for the first time in two years. Due to a knee injury, he missed last season and the first two games of this one as well.

TOUGH NIGHT

After accruing fouls for the majority of the evening, Sacramento center Domantas Sabonis played only 31 minutes. At 6:46 left in the third quarter, he drew his fifth foul, giving him a total of four for the first half.

With 3:09 left in the first overtime, Sabonis, who recorded his seventh triple-double in Thursday night’s victory over Portland, fouled out. He finished with 20 points, 10 rebounds and four assists.
